Sheriff Nowels Welcomes Three New Entry-Level Deputies
On December 9, 2024, Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels swore in three new Entry-Level Deputies at the Spokane County Public Safety Building. Please help us welcome Entry-Level Deputy Nathan Fatigate, Deputy Lexus Jones, and Deputy Derek Rimestad to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Nathan Fatigate (25) recently moved to the Spokane area but was born and raised in California. He graduated from Dana Hills High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communications from California State University, San Marcos. He was previously employed in the grocery industry before joining the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Lexus Jones (26) was born and raised on Whidbey Island, WA., and graduated from Oak Harbor High School. She was previously employed with Phoenix Protection Corporation before joining the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Derek Rimestad (30) was born and raised in Tonasket, WA., and graduated from Tonasket High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Spokane area prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office.
