SCIU Detectives Attempt to Reunite Property with Victims of Package Theft in the Colbert Area between 12/01 – 12/05
Spokane County Investigative Unit (SCIU) Detectives continue to work a package theft investigation where the suspect is believed to have stolen packages from Colbert area homes between December 1, 2024, and December 5, 2024. The suspect is believed to have used the pictured black Jeep Rubicon during the thefts.
Investigators have located social media posts (Next Door) regarding this suspect stealing packages from porches in the Colbert area while driving the Jeep but have not been able to identify the possible victims.
Anyone possibly victimized by this suspect who has video of his Jeep Rubicon and/or video of the suspect stealing packages in the Colbert area during this timeframe is urged to call SCIU Detective C. Cupo at 509-477-3151, reference #10170343.
SCIU Detectives have been investigating several package thefts in the Colbert area that were reported to have occurred between December 1, 2024, and December 5, 2024. Through that investigation, Investigators located video of the suspect’s Jeep Rubicon and possibly the suspect’s name/address.
On December 5, 2024, SCIU Detectives learned that Spokane Police Officers were at the suspect’s residence in the 1700 block of E. Lincoln on an unrelated theft call and had obtained a search warrant for the location.
Investigators located several items, including merchandise believed to have been stolen during mail/package thefts in the Colbert area by the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Zack G. Bunke.
On December 5, 2024, Bunke was booked into the Spokane County Jail by Spokane Police Officers on unrelated charges of Possession of Stolen Property 1st Degree and Obstructing. He was released on December 9, 2024, after posting the $2,500 bond set by Spokane County Superior Court.
SCIU Detectives believe Bunke, a convicted felon (Theft 2nd Degree), was driving the pictured Jeep through the Colbert area between December 1, 2024, and December 5, 2024, stealing packages from porches but have only been able to identify four victims connected to Bunke’s suspected criminal actions.
