Investigators Seek Contact with Driver of a Truck or Any Security/In-Vehicle Video Recorded in the Area of Motorcycle Crash

Spokane County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit Investigators are attempting to identify and contact the driver/passengers of a full-sized truck that was traveling south on N. Fairview Road, between E. Piper Road before turning west on N. Freya Street, on October 18, 2024, between 6:45 and 7:15 pm.   

Witnesses reported seeing what was described as a full-sized pickup truck driving south on N. Fairview Road around the time of the motorcycle crash, and Investigators believe the driver or passengers of the truck may have information that could be helpful.  

Witnesses added the truck was possibly older and might be lifted.

Investigators would like to be contacted by any businesses or drivers with an in-vehicle video recorder that captured traffic/vehicles from the intersection of N. Market Street and N. Freya Street, east on Freya to N. Fairview, and north on Fairview to E. Piper Road on October 18, 2024, between 6:45 and 7:15 pm.

Traffic Unit Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a one-vehicle motorcycle crash that resulted in the rider sustaining serious injuries, and the passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Traffic Unit members responded to investigate.        

Fairview Road is closed near E. Piper Road while the investigation continues.  Please avoid the area and take an alternate route.   

On October 18, 2024, at approximately 7:10 pm, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported motorcycle crash with serious injuries in the 8900 block of N. Fairview Road. 

Callers said there were two people on the motorcycle when it crashed, the female passenger was not breathing, and CPR was in progress.  

Deputies and Spokane County Fire District 9 Firefighters arrived, secured the scene, and provided medical treatment.

Despite all efforts, the adult female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The adult male rider sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital for additional care.    

Due to the severity of this crash, Traffic Unit Investigators were requested to continue the investigation.

Initial information indicates speed and possible impairment may be contributing factors.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death, when appropriate.
