Female Suspect Arrested After Entering/Damaging North Spokane County Home

Spokane County Deputies responded to reports of an unknown female entering occupied homes in North Spokane County, just outside the City of Deer Park.  Deputies located the suspect in the attic of a victim’s residence and took her into custody.  The victim estimated the damage caused by Fields to be approximately $20,000.  After she was medically cleared, she was transported and booked into jail.

On March 6, 2025, at approximately 7:05 am, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress call in the 32000 block of N. Cedar Road.  The caller stated an unknown adult female tried to break into her home.  The female suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Andrea M. Fields, said she was kidnapped yesterday and had been on the run since.  Fields ran away when the victim called 911.

Minutes later, a second caller reported Fields entered her home without permission.  This victim said she did not know Fields and told her to leave.  Fields didn’t go as instructed and said someone was chasing her.   The victim left her home and waited to contact arriving Deputies.

Deputies established a perimeter and waited for additional resources to arrive.  They made multiple announcements, telling Fields to surrender, but she failed to comply.   Deputies entered the residence and noticed it was in complete disarray and damaged.  They searched with the assistance of a UAS and K9, but Fields was not located.  However, while inside, Deputies heard sounds coming from the attic.  Deputies also observed damage to the ceiling, consistent with a person putting weight on the drywall as they moved around in the attic area.

After multiple attempts to coax Fields from the attic, she finally chose to surrender.  She was safely taken into custody by Deputies and provided medical treatment.

Fields was advised of her rights and agreed to answer questions.  She explained she has been experiencing a lot of anxiety lately and, earlier in the day, became very paranoid.  She admitted to going to the first house and left after telling the homeowner she needed help.   She ran to the second residence, found an unlocked door, and entered.  She stated she did not know the people who lived there.

Deputies spoke to the victim, who estimated the total damage caused by Fields to be approximately $20,000.

Fields was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Residential Burglary and Malicious Mischief 1st Degree.
