Deputies Arrest 3 Suspects for Residential Burglary and Drug Charges

Spokane County Deputies, assisted by Spokane Valley Deputies, located and arrested three suspects after an armed homeowner reported he confronted two burglars inside his home.  The three suspects were booked into jail.

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 12:20 am, Spokane County and Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a reported residential burglary that had just occurred near N. Madison Road and E. Farwell Road.  The homeowner said he was asleep when he heard a voice inside his home.  He armed himself with a shotgun and observed two suspects running out onto the porch, where he confronted them.

The suspects fled in a dark 4-door vehicle, and the victim tried to follow but lost sight of them near N. Burns Road and E. Olympic Avenue.

Responding Spokane County and Spokane Valley Deputies flooded the area and began searching for the suspects.

A Deputy located two males, identified as 45-year-old Ronald L. Scribner and 41-year-old Yevgeniy V. Altukhov, walking near N. Lucille Road and E. Olympic Avenue and contacted them.  The Deputy recognized Scribner from an earlier contact on March 3rd, where he was driving a 2012 Jeep Cherokee.  At that time, a female, 43-year-old Trisha D. Stansbury, was in the passenger seat and claimed ownership of the Jeep.  He advised other Deputies in the area that they should be looking for the Jeep previously driven by Scribner.

Almost immediately, another Deputy advised she had located the Jeep in the 5200 block of N. Bellevue Ct. and detained Stansbury, who was inside.

A third Deputy located a third male suspect near E. Wellesley and N. Sullivan Road and detained him.

Through the investigation, Deputies learned Scribner was driving the Jeep Stansbury claimed to own.  She was the front passenger, and Altukhov and the third male detained by Deputies were in the back.

They drove to the victim’s residence, where Scribner and Altukhov exited and approached his home.  Soon after, Scribner and Altukhov ran back to the Jeep as if being chased and fled the Jeep.

The victim positively identified the Jeep as the vehicle the burglary suspects were in.

Based on all the evidence and statements Deputies obtained, they established probable cause to charge Scribner, Stansbury, and Altukhov with residential burglary.  They did not establish probable cause to charge the third male, and he was released without charges.

During a search after the arrest, Deputies found suspected Methamphetamine on Stansbury and Altukhov.  They seized the Jeep as evidence pending a search warrant.

Scribner, Stansbury, and Altukhov were transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Residential Burglary.  Stansbury and Altukhov were also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On March 4, 2025, with a valid search warrant issued, Deputies searched the Jeep.  They located a black satchel under the front driver’s seat that contained a baggie with a white crystalline substance believed to be Methamphetamine.  With Scribner identified as the driver, Deputies requested that he also be charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
