Possibly Armed Domestic Violence Suspect with a Violent Criminal History Attempts to Flee with Victim and Two Young Children in the Car

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies became aware of a possible domestic violence (DV) suspect fleeing from a DV call in Airway Heights.  Airway Heights Police Officers advised via radio that the suspect fled the location before their arrival, and he was seen forcing the victim female and two young children into a gray Chevrolet car.   A Deputy located the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the suspect fled.  After a short pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody.  The three victims were provided medical treatment for their injuries, which were believed not to be serious/life-threatening.

On November 9, 2024, at approximately 10:05 pm, Deputies in the area of W. Whistalks Way and N. Government Way heard a Domestic Violence call in Airway Heights broadcast over the radio.

Additional information explained the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Antonio M. Davis, a violent offender on supervised probation and had numerous felony convictions, was possibly armed with a handgun.

Airway Heights Police Officers (AWHPD) advised the gray Chevrolet was not at the scene, and witnesses reported seeing Davis force the victim and two young juveniles into the car.

A Deputy almost immediately advised seeing a possible suspect vehicle near Whistalks Way and Government Way.  Additional Deputies pulled behind the suspect, believed to have kidnapped the three victims, and activated their emergency lights/sirens to conduct a traffic stop.

Initially, Davis appeared to pull over but continued to roll forward slowly and eventually accelerated quickly in an attempt to flee.   Believing the possibly kidnapped victims were in danger due to Davis’ violent criminal history and his reported violent actions earlier, the Deputies pursued.

As they approached N. Government Way and W. Greenwood Road, Davis lost control, slid off the road, and hit a curb before stopping in the 3500 block of W. Government Way.  When Davis exited the vehicle, he was taken to the ground and arrested by Deputies.

The three victims were transported to the hospital for additional medical care and evaluation.

Airway Height Police Officers continued their domestic violence investigation and spoke with Deputies regarding the pursuit and Davis’ arrest.

Davis was provided medical treatment before being booked into the Spokane County Jail.  Deputies charged Davis with Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment (2 counts), and Resisting/Obstructing.

Through their initial DV investigation, Airway Heights Officers charged Davis with Unlawful Imprisonment DV (three counts) and Assault 4th Degree with Prior DV Convictions.

Davis remains in jail with his total case bond set at $100,000.
