Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash on W. Rutter Parkway 

Spokane County Traffic Unit Investigators are at the scene of a single-vehicle crash at W. Rutter Parkway and N. Dorset Road.  

W. Rutter Parkway will be CLOSED between W. Rutter Parkway Lane on the west to N. Dorset Road on the east for the next two or more hours while this incident is investigated and the roadway is cleared.  
 
Please find an alternate route, as there are no options to divert traffic in the area, causing commuters to be turned back.      

On November 21, 2024, at approximately 10:35 am, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported vehicle that had crashed into a tree near W. Rutter Parkway and N. Dorset Road.    

Deputies and Spokane County Fire District 9 Firefighters arrived and located a male occupant inside the vehicle, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

Spokane County Traffic Unit Investigators responded and are conducting the investigation.

Initial information indicates the vehicle, traveling west on Rutter Parkway, left the north side of the roadway and struck a large tree.  

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the decedent, along with cause and manner of death, when appropriate.
