Detectives Investigate Fatal Fire at North Spokane County RV Park

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives, Forensic Unit personnel, and Spokane County Fire District 4 Fire Investigators are working to determine what led to last night’s fatal fire at an RV Park in North Spokane County.

On October 17, 2024, at approximately 11:05 pm, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies and Spokane County Fire District 4 Firefighters responded to a fire at the Wild Rose RV Park, 23106 N. Highway 395.

As SCFD 4 Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames of the camper trailer, Deputies secured the scene and began talking to witnesses.

Deputies learned several neighbors noticed the fire and tried to put it out themselves, checking for anyone inside. They did not get a response from inside the camper.

When SCFD 4 Firefighters made entry into the camper, they discovered two adult persons and a cat deceased inside.

Once the fire was extinguished, Deputies secured the scene and notified Major Crime Detectives, which is standard procedure with any unattended death.  Due to the heat from the recent fire and darkness, the scene remained secure.  Detectives, forensic personnel, and fire investigators responded this morning after sunrise to process the scene, determine the cause of the fire, and if this was a tragic accident.

The Spokane Medical Examiners Office will release the decedents’ names, along with the cause and manner of death, when appropriate.  Fatal Fire
