On November 10, 2024, at approximately 5:20 pm, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in East Spokane County.
The caller stated the 16-year-old juvenile had been trying to fight everyone and was currently assaulting her mother. The caller also advised it appeared the suspect was trying to access the kitchen knives.
The first Deputy arrived to find the suspect’s stepfather restraining her on the floor of the kitchen. He told the suspect she was detained and to get on her stomach. She responded by saying, “(expletive) off” and remained uncooperative, even striking her family member with a closed fist several times.
As the Deputies tried to place her in handcuffs without injuring her, they warned her that if she assaulted them, she would be charged with a felony, but she remained verbally abusive and uncooperative. She was eventually subdued in handcuffs.
As the Deputy escorted the suspect out of the residence toward the patrol cars, she remained verbally abusive toward her family. Suddenly, she bent forward and kicked to the rear, kicking the Deputy in the thigh. She was restrained on the ground but tried to kick the Deputy again. She finally calmed down, and she was evaluated by medical personnel.
The victims explained the argument started over the suspect’s use of her cellphone. The suspect left the residence but returned a short time later, and the argument continued, which soon escalated. During this time, the suspect hit/kicked both victims several times, leading to her being physically restrained.
After being medically cleared, the suspect was transported and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center for felony Assault 3rd Degree and two misdemeanor counts of Assault 4th Degree (DV).
